Scope and Contents From the Collection: Valdosta State College Woman's Club was founded in 1967. The stated purpose of the club was: to foster social life amongst its members, to promote the welfare of the student body, and to further the interests of the college in every way possible." The collection spans from 1970-1982 and contains  yearly Calendars , membership lists, a "yearbook", and a Cookbook. Papers belonging to Dr. Raymond A. Cook, former English professor at VSC. Dr. Cook was also a past president of Young Harris College. He wrote several books, including a book about the life and poetry of Byron Herbert Reece. Cook was actively involved in the Byron Herbert Reece Society and in helping establish a memorial to Reece.

Foam display panels for Women's History exhibit. Panels are divided into three groups - Art and culture; leadership, activism, and service; and Education. Lists of items used in the display are included along with collection numbers and locations.

VSC letter jacket donated by Frances Garbutt Maughon. Ms. Maughon (then Garbutt) was on VSC's first Cheerleading squad in the 1953/54 season. The squad cheered on VSC's first basketball team.

Also included is a folder containing yearbook photos of the Cheerleders and the Basketball team (Frances Garbutt is identified in the photos), and a letter written by Ms. Maughon at the age of 88 describing her time at VSC..
